Mercyhealth in Illinois seeks a pharmacist to provide safe, effective medication therapy and lead pharmacy technicians and support staff. You will participate in quality improvement, clinical consultation, and ensure compliance with policies and standards.
The role requires graduation from an accredited pharmacy program, Illinois/Wisconsin license or eligibility, and hospital pharmacy experience or residency. Strong interpretive skills and computer proficiency are essential.
The Pharmacist provides safe, effective, and cost-conscious medication therapy while supporting patients, families, and healthcare professionals through medication management, clinical consultation, and drug information. This role also provides daily leadership and oversight of pharmacy technicians and support staff, participates in quality improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
Schedule: 7-on - 7-off
Shift: 9:30 AM-8:00 PM Monday-Friday, with 6:30 AM-5:00 PM weekend and holiday coverage.
Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Program
Hospital Pharmacy experience or residency preferred
Wisconsin/Illinois Registered Pharmacist License or eligible
Excellent interpretive/analytical skills for pharmaceutical applications
Strong accuracy skills
Computer experience
Work requires a moderate level of independent judgment along with good interpretative and interpersonal skills with justification and accountability to Supervisor, Manager, and Director.
This position supervises technicians. This position is involved in the recruitment and orientation process and provides performance feedback and input for performance evaluation purposes. May implement coaching, counseling, and corrective action when needed.
