Smith's Food and Drug in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a pharmacist to provide professional pharmacy services, including filling prescriptions and counseling patients. You will supervise pharmacy technicians and ensure all activities meet regulatory standards.

You will interpret prescriptions, manage patient data, counsel patients on medications, and collaborate with prescribers to optimize drug therapy while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Board of Pharmacy license
• APhA Immunization Certified
• Effective interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant working and shopping environment.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service by demonstrating sincerity, patience and respect in all customer interactions.
• Adhere to all local, state and federal health and civil codes.
• Interpret physicians’ prescriptions and enter prescription and patient data into computer system.
• Provide pharmacy technician prescription information and supervise filling.
• Counsel patients over the phone and in person regarding possible side effects of medications, proper administration of medications, potential drug/food or drug/drug interactions.
