Job summary

Blue Shield of California is seeking a Pharmacist-Consultant to support the PA team applying evidence-based decisions for the outpatient pharmacy benefit. This role emphasizes DUR, formulary and medication policy, and collaboration with the P&T committee.

The successful candidate will have a PharmD, active CA license, 2+ years of clinical pharmacy experience, and at least 1 year in prior authorization, with strong communication skills to promote cost-effective, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
• Active California Pharmacist license (RPh) required.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical pharmacy experience.
• Minimum 1 year of prior authorization experience.
• Experience with formulary and medication policies required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of therapeutic use of medications.
