Job Title

Pharmacist Clinical Staff/Shift-BSD/UKHC - 2nd Shift 7on/7off Central Pharmacy

Shift

2nd shift; varying hours; 7 days on/7 days off; 5 twelve‑hour shifts and 2 ten‑hour shifts per on‑week

Job Summary

Provides pharmaceutical care to patients in an inpatient hospital setting; compounds and dispenses medications upon receiving written orders from physicians; provides supervision of technical staff and confirms the quality and accuracy of dispensed products; maintains inventory and records on narcotics and other drugs; reviews and interprets prescriptions and drug profiles to ensure appropriate drug therapy has been prescribed and drug interactions are considered; contacts and confers with physicians and other practitioners to optimize drug therapy. Duties may include active participation in patient care rounds, review of patient profiles, provision of pharmacokinetics, and response to emergent situations (e.g., cardiopulmonary arrest).

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; performing tasks with repetitive motions such as typing; occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; lifting, pushing, pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds; exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, cuts/punctures, and blood‑borne or airborne pathogens.
