Job summary

MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Pharmacist for a contract with a top healthcare client in Michigan. The candidate will provide high quality pharmaceutical care in a hospital setting, coordinate drug distribution, and participate in clinical activities under Pharmacy and Therapeutics directives.

This position requires a Pharmacy degree from an accredited college, Michigan Pharmacist licensure or eligibility, and a preference for at least 2 years of hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the provision of high quality pharmaceutical care to hospital patients in compliance with federal/state regulations and accreditation standards.
• Involve in drug distribution functions including order entry, verification, IV admixture, and related tasks.
• Communicate with physicians, nurses, and staff to clarify orders and document intervention outcomes as directed by Pharmacy and Therapeutics guidelines.

Duties Responsibilities

• To actively coordinate, on a day-to-day basis, the provision of high quality, comprehensive pharmaceutical care to the patients of hospital, in compliance with federal and state legal/regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards.
• Involvement with multiple drug distribution functions (inclusive of computerized order entry and/or prospective review and verification of physicians' orders, IV admixture preparation, etc.)
• Defined clinical/cognitive activities to optimize therapeutic outcomes under the aegis of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee directives (which include active communication with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff about the need to clarify and/or change an order along with documentation of intervention outcomes).
