Pharmacist

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–9:00 PM; Saturday–Sunday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM

Available Shifts: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 1:00 PM–9:00 PM

Weekend Requirement: Some weekends required

Overtime/Holidays: May be required as needed

Pay Rate: $50-$55/hr

Job Summary

The Pharmacist is responsible for supporting pharmacy management’s goals and objectives within the dispensing pharmacy. This position provides routine and emergency comprehensive and accurate drug screening, information, processing, and dispensing services for various drug distribution systems. The Pharmacist ensures that medications are prepared and dispensed accurately, efficiently, and safely while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.

Essential Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day pharmacy operations, including workflow, production quotas, and deadlines.


• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy.


• Assist in maintaining compliance with DEA policies and procedures established by PharmScript or applicable regulatory agencies, whichever is more stringent.


• Ensure compliance with third-party payer contract requirements.


• Supervise pharmacy production staff to ensure accurate order entry, efficient workflow, pharmacy security, and adherence to delivery schedules.


• Review all new and refill labels and orders for completeness and accuracy.


• Verify the content and accuracy of drug packaging and labeling.


• Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of sterile IV drug products and solutions.


• Assist with the proper ordering, handling, receiving, documentation, and storage of controlled substances.


• Assist in maintaining perpetual inventory records for Schedule II medications.


• Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage as part of scheduled on-call rotations and as required by management.


• Ensure the pharmacy workflow dashboard is cleared daily.


• Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.


• Maintain compliance with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule & Availability

• Staffing hours are Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–9:00 PM.


• Weekend staffing hours are Saturday–Sunday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Work Environment

This position may involve the use of standard office and pharmacy equipment, including computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, rolling carts, fax machines, and related equipment.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of the position:

• May sit or stand for approximately 7–10 hours per day.
