Job summary

Technology Consulting Inc. seeks a knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our Horsham, PA team on a contract-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will dispense medications, counsel patients, and collaborate with healthcare professionals while ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations.

A PharmD degree and PA licensure are required. The role involves on-site work from 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday with alternating weekends.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Accept and dispense prescription medications.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns.
• Ensure that the supply of medicines is within the law.
• Ensure that the medicines prescribed to patients are suitable.
• Maintain confidential records of all patients and pharmacy files.
• Advise patients about medicines, including how to take them and possible reactions.
• Provide consultations on prescription and non-prescription medications, storage, dosage, interactions.
• Provide services to patients, such as smoking cessation, BP measurement and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on proper handling of medical devices.
• Compound medications for external or internal use.
• Prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures.
• Supervise pharmacy staff and maintain inventory.
• Identify drug-related problems and communicate with physicians.
• Work with physicians, nurses, and other pharmacists.

Note: This position requires US Citizenship and work is performed on-site.

SUMMARY

The ideal candidate will provide safe and accurate medication services, counsel patients, collaborate with healthcare professionals, and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and standards. Candidates should have a PharmD or equivalent degree, an active Oklahoma pharmacist license, strong communication skills, and a commitment to excellent patient care.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accept and dispense prescription medications.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns.
• Ensuring that the supply of medicines is within the law.
• Ensuring that the medicines prescribed to patients are suitable.
• Accurately maintain confidential records of all patients ensure proper management of patient records and pharmacy files.
• Advising patients about medicines, including how to take them, what reactions may occur and answering patients' questions.
• Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications for storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Provide services to patients, such as smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on proper handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitor and glucose meters.
• Compound medications for external or internal use.
• Prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures.
• Supervise pharmacy staff members including pharmacy technicians, pharmacy clerks, etc.
• Maintain appropriate inventory on pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
• Identify patient's drug-related problems and effectively communicate with physicians and other healthcare practitioners.
• Work in conjunction with physicians, nurses, other pharmacists, pharmacy interns, etc.

REQUIREMENTS

• Active, unrestricted license in PA.
• Doctor of Pharmacy degree is required.
• Experience with compounding infused drugs
