Job summary

AuBurn Pharmacy Long Term Care is a leading provider of specialized pharmacy services for long-term care facilities in Wichita, KS, and surrounding areas. Pharmacists review prescription orders for correctness, drug interactions, and clinical suitability, and ensure compliant medication packaging prior to delivery to the facility.

We support sterile IV compounding (in-house training) and non-sterile compounding.

Qualifications

• Pharmacists must review prescription orders for residents in long-term care settings.
• Knowledge of geriatric drug information is required.
• Certification to compound sterile IVs (with in-house training) and non-sterile compounding.

Responsibilities

• Review prescription orders for long-term care patients, verify orders for correctness, drug interactions, and clinical appropriateness.
• Check compliance packaging of medications prior to delivery to facilities.
• Maintain knowledge and certification to compound sterile IVs and non-sterile drugs (with in-house training).
• Be available for 40 hours per week with weekend rotations and on-call shifts.

Job Description:

Our pharmacists review prescription orders for patients living in long term care, assisted living, and home plus environments. We not only verify orders for correctness, drug interactions, and clinical appropriateness, we check the compliance packaging of medications prior to delivery to the facility. Pharmacists will maintain knowledge and certification to compound sterile IVs (with in house training) and non-sterile compounding. AuBurn is searching for a candidate to work 40 hours a week and must be available for weekends rotations and on-call shifts.

Although we have no direct patient interaction, our benefit is seen in the clinical coordination of safe medication prescribing with the providers. Knowledge of geriatric drug information and a passion to care for the elderly is what our team is built upon.
