JobRx, Inc. is seeking a pharmacist in Tylertown, Mississippi. The position involves extensive collaboration with medical staff and ensuring patient care by adhering to departmental policies and procedures.
Candidates must graduate from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy school and register with the Mississippi State Board of Pharmacy. Responsibilities include dispensing and managing pharmaceuticals for pediatric and geriatric patients while supervising support personnel.
This position requires extensive contact and collaboration with medical staff, nursing service, and non-hospital personnel. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge and sensitivity to cultural and religious beliefs of patients, visitors and staff. Maintains all department and hospital records and enters accurate information into the electronic health record. Fulfills professional responsibility in dispensing, procurement, control, and consultation involved with pharmaceuticals. The Pharmacist must possess and utilize a knowledge base in medication for children (pediatric), adolescent, and geriatric patients to evaluate orders, make recommendations for therapy and manage therapy through protocols. Supervises and directs support personnel. Performs other duties as assigned.
Performance expectations will be covered in the orientation and preceptor phases of your orientation to your job.
Education/Skills: Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy.
Work Experience: Preferred but not required.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE:
Ability to problem solve in a high pace environment, under pressure. Possess diplomacy an aid to working with all personnel, patients, families, and leadership within the facility. Possess intrinsic motivation to remain current in clinical field through participating in on-going professional development. Ability to translate knowledge of pharmaceuticals to appropriate care provision. Able to exercise professional judgement in an accurate manner with the realization that error may have serious consequence to patients. Show initiative, dependability, and sincere interest in being a capable, cooperative, and understanding health care member. Ability to have an attention for detail for extended periods of time. Ability to read, write and interpret data.
