Job summary

Guardian Pharmacy is seeking a pharmacist to support vaccination clinics in San Diego, CA through November. The role involves preparing medications for vaccination clinics and field support as needed.

This temporary, full-time position offers Monday–Friday 9:00am–5:30pm with schedule flexibility based on clinics and pays $64–$66 per hour. Ideal candidates will have a pharmacy degree (PharmD or B.Pharm) and an active, unrestricted pharmacist license, plus at least 1 year of related experience and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD is required.
• State Pharmacist License in good standing is required without restrictions.
• 1+ year of related experience preferred/desirable.
• Advanced computer skills and experience with pharmacy operations systems.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare medications for final dispensing to patients, including filling, entry, and packaging.
• Review orders and cycle-fill medications to ensure accuracy.
• Verify dispensing against allergies, drug interactions, refills, and safety considerations.
• Interpret prescription orders with professional judgment for safety and legality.
• Adhere to Federal and State regulations governing pharmacy practice.
• Adhere to compounding guidelines and safety standards.
• Transfer prescriptions to other pharmacies when needed.
• Answer questions from patients, doctors, and nurses.
• Monitor inventory levels and reorder when below par.
• Identify cost-effective product options and substitutions when appropriate.
• Notify customers when products are out of stock and provide timelines.
• Restock supplies as needed and manage station inventory.
• Oversee technicians and provide performance feedback to supervisor.
• Document any error medication occurrences.

We are looking for a pharmacist to support our Vaccination Clinics through the end of November. Primary duties will entail preparing medications for vaccination clinics and assisting in the field as needed.

Temporary: through November

Full-time: 32-40 hours per week

Schedule: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm (with flexibility based on scheduled clinics)

Pay: $64-$66 per hour

Ensure all prescriptions are filled according to order and regulations, accurately and in a timely manner and proper packaging according to facility.

Essential Job Functions (include The Following)

• Accurately prepare medications for final dispensing to the patient, including filling, order entry, and packaging
• Review completed orders and cycle-fill medications to ensure prescriptions were filled correctly
• Verify the legality and pharmaceutical feasibility of dispensing a drug based on patients' allergies, Incompatibilities with current medications, frequency of refills, etc.
• Interpret prescription orders, to include exercising professional judgment in determining whether to dispense a particular prescription, taking into account patient safety and legal limitations.
• Adhere to all Federal and State Board of Pharmacy regulations
• Adhere to all applicable guidelines for compounding
• Transfer prescriptions to other pharmacies as needed
• Answer questions from patients, doctors, nurses, etc.
• Evaluate inventory levels and place orders when below par
• On exception items, look up most cost-effective product to order
• Notify customer/facility if product is out of stock and when the order can be filled
• Restock station supplies as needed - vials, cassettes, labels, delivery tickets, etc.
• Oversee the work of all technicians and give feedback to their supervisor regarding their performance
• Log all error medication occurrences
• Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed

Education And/or Certifications

• Bachelor's Degree (Pharmacy) or PharmD. required
• State Pharmacist License required without restrictions

• Advanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience preferred/required
