Job summary

CHI Mercy Health of Roseburg is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to help doctors and nurses safely prescribe and dispense medications, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.

You will review every prescription in queue, check for drug interactions, dosing accuracy, allergies, and any unusual concerns, using expert judgment for final safety checks. Strong problem-solving and patient-focused care are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
• Oregon Pharmacist License.
• AHA BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Document clinical activities and interventions.
• Interprets medication orders for drug interactions and appropriate drug selection.
• Enters and verifies orders into the computer system, labels and dispenses medications.
• Verifies medications prepared by other pharmacy personnel.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Clinical Pharmacist, you’ll help our doctors and nurses safely prescribe and dispense medications to help our patients feel better and recover from their illness or injury.

Every day, you’ll build trust in these interactions by reviewing every prescription in your queue. We never rely entirely on the computer to check for safety; we always use an expert for the final check. That’s you. You’ll review prescriptions for potential drug interactions, correct dosing, patient allergies or anything that looks unusual in your opinion.

To excel in this role, you must enjoy learning new concepts and researching information in real-time to provide solutions for our patients. You should also continually look for ways to go above and beyond for your patients, delivering an exceptional experience along with exceptional care.
