Job summary

Adecco is recruiting a Staff Pharmacist to join our growing pharmacy team in the Lexington area. You will ensure safe, accurate medication therapy and deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced community setting.

The role requires a PharmD, an active Kentucky Pharmacist License, and strong knowledge of drug therapy and patient safety. You will collaborate with physicians and nurses, supervise technicians, and participate in immunizations and medication-management services.

Qualifications

  • PharmD degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active Kentucky Pharmacist License in good standing.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical care, drug therapy, and medication safety.
  • Excellent communication and patient-service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy management systems and EHR.

Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
  • Counsel patients regarding medications, side effects, interactions, and proper use.
  • Assess prescriptions for appropriate dosing, potential interactions, and medication safety.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Administer immunizations and provide other clinical pharmacy services as authorized.
  • Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and interns.
  • Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
  • Participate in quality assurance and medication safety initiatives.
  • Maintain continuing education and licensure requirements.

Job description

Are you a patient-focused Pharmacist looking for a rewarding opportunity in the Metro Lexington, KY area? We’re seeking a dedicated Staff Pharmacist to join a growing pharmacy team and play an important role in delivering safe, effective, and personalized medication care.

The pharmacy is currently operating the following schedule:

  • Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM–7:00 PM
  • Saturday: 9:00 AM–3:00 PM
  • Sunday: 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
Anticipated Future Schedule

Hours are expected to expand to:

  • Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM–8:00 PM
What You'll Do

As a Staff Pharmacist, you will help ensure patients receive safe, accurate, and effective medication therapy while providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review, verify, and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently
  • Counsel patients regarding medications, side effects, interactions, and proper use
  • Assess prescriptions for appropriate dosing, potential interactions, and medication safety
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Administer immunizations and provide other clinical pharmacy services as authorized

  • Assist with medication inventory, ordering, storage, and control
  • Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
  • Participate in quality assurance and medication safety initiatives
  • Maintain continuing education and licensure requirements
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution
  • Active Kentucky Pharmacist License in good standing
