Job summary

Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Keller is seeking a Pharmacist for a PRN (as-needed) role within a hospital setting. The position emphasizes verifying orders, monitoring medication management, and supervising Pharmacy Technicians to ensure safe and effective drug therapy.

Applicants should hold a BS Pharm or Pharm D and a current Texas license, with hospital pharmacy experience preferred. Strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist degree required; clinical residency preferred.
• Active Texas Pharmacist license required.
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred (2 years).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician medication orders with accuracy and timeliness.
• Monitors and improves the six processes of medication management with clinicians in quality/performance improvement.
• Verifies and approves the work of Pharmacy Technician(s).
• Orders and stores medications, keeping them safe and effective.
• Monitors drug therapy for appropriateness and performs anticoagulant monitoring.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

How You'll Contribute

• Verifies physician medication orders with accuracy and timeliness
• Monitors and evaluates the six critical processes of medication management; determines risk points and is an active participant with physicians and clinical staff in continuous quality and performance improvement
• Verifies and approves the work of Pharmacy Technician(s)
• Orders and stores medications, keeping them safe and effective
• Monitors drug therapy for appropriateness and promotes/ evaluates rational drug therapy that improves pharmaceutical care. Performs anticoagulant monitoring
• Other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

• BS Pharm or Pharm D degree required, accredited clinical residency preferred
• Must hold a current state license to practice pharmacy
• Two years' experience in hospital pharmacy is preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
