Overview
The Pharmacist will ensure patrons receive high-quality consultations and guidance for medical cannabis needs. The role focuses on patient care through compliant consultations, adherence to state regulations and company policies, and contributing to a culture of compliance, compassion, and quality care.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example as a service-oriented, dedicated, energetic professional.
- Mentor and train store staff on compliance, products, and company best practices.
- Adhere to and promote the company culture of positivity, professionalism, and policy compliance with state regulations.
- Conduct over-the-phone and in-person consultations and follow-ups to provide accurate and compassionate information to patients and caregivers.
- Follow policies and procedures and execute all company programs for customer service, patient and visitor management, state compliance, and safety and security guidelines.
- Guide patients and employees with cannabis recommendations including product selection, effects, potency, dosing, methods of consumption, and administration.
- Identify and develop process improvements to support company growth.
- Effectively and diplomatically handle employee or customer concerns and complaints in coordination with the Store Manager and Regional Manager.
- Report issues or product-related complaints to the Manager, Quality and Compliance Manager, and Director of Operations in real time.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.
- Maintain an active Virginia Pharmacy license and be a registered medical professional with the Board of Pharmacy.
- Willingness to submit to and pass a comprehensive background check.
- Strong team management and personal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a strong compliance orientation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; detail-oriented and focused.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ability to navigate multiple software platforms.
- Knowledge of cannabis and related products.
- Flexibility regarding work schedule, including evenings, weekends, opening and closing shifts.
Qualifications
- Active Virginia Pharmacist license and registration with the State Board of Pharmacy.
- Experience in patient counseling and medical cannabis or clinical settings preferred.
- Strong understanding of state regulations and company policies related to cannabis and pharmacy operations.
