Job summary

Genoa Healthcare, part of Optum and UnitedHealth Group, is seeking a Long term care Staff Pharmacist in Colorado. You will verify prescriptions, provide clinical support, and ensure accurate dispensing for patients in long-term care facilities.

Collaborate with leadership, nursing staff, and providers to maintain compliance, manage medications, and participate in inventory and automated systems. The role requires CO licensure, immunizer certification, and willingness to work a Monday–Friday

Qualifications

• Current pharmacist’s license in CO.
• Certified immunizer.
• Willing to work 40 hours a week within the Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm pharmacy hours and rotating Saturdays, 9am-1pm as needed.
• Driver’s License and access to a reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Verify prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and regulatory compliance prior to dispensing.
• Interpret, clarify, and evaluate medication orders to ensure safe and effective medication therapy.
• Provide drug information and clinical support to providers, nursing staff, caregivers, and patients.
• Ensure timely and accurate dispensing of medications, including specialty medications, controlled substances, and compliance packaging.
• Monitor medication profiles for potential interactions, duplicate therapies, allergies, and contraindications.

Long term care Staff Pharmacist - Pharmacy plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely dispensing of medications to patients served by long-term care facilities and pharmacy operations. This position works collaboratively with pharmacy leadership, pharmacy technicians, nursing staff, providers, and facility partners to deliver high-quality pharmacy services while maintaining compliance with all state, federal, company, and accreditation standards.

The LTC Staff Pharmacist is responsible for prescription verification, clinical oversight, medication dispensing, quality assurance, and supporting pharmacy operations including automation. This individual must be able to work and support locations if needed.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM-6:00 PM; Saturdays 9:00 AM-1:00 PM (as business needs require)

Primary Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and build strong relationships with consumers and clinic partners
• Verify prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and regulatory compliance prior to dispensing
• Interpret, clarify, and evaluate medication orders to ensure safe and effective medication therapy
• Provide drug information and clinical support to providers, nursing staff, caregivers, and patients
• Ensure timely and accurate dispensing of medications, including specialty medications, controlled substances, and compliance packaging
• Monitor medication profiles for potential interactions, duplicate therapies, allergies, and contraindications
• Performs wellness services such as Long-Acting Injectable administrations, immunizations, flu shots and other preventive services
• Support medication therapy management and clinical interventions when appropriate
• Participate in inventory management activities to maintain adequate medication supplies
• Work within automated dispensing, packaging, and workflow systems to promote accuracy and efficiency
• Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations

Required Qualifications

• Current pharmacist’s license in the state of CO
• Certified immunizer

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of pharmacy experience
• Experience with compliance packaging
• LTC pharmacy experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $44.00 - $79.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
