Job summary

Soleo Health is seeking a Full-Time Pharmacist to support our Specialty Infusion Pharmacy in Canton, MA. The role focuses on sterile compounding, dispensing, and clinical monitoring within regulatory standards as defined by the state board, federal agencies, accrediting bodies, and Soleo Health.

You will work collaboratively with nursing, intake/admissions, reimbursement, sales and marketing to ensure efficient, customer-focused patient care and optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) or BS in Pharmacy with appropriate experience.
• PGY1 Residency in Home/Alternate site infusion preferred but not required.
• Current applicable home state licensure as a registered Pharmacist.
• 1 to 3 years of experience with a specialty home infusion company or IV pharmacy setting.
• Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook proficiency (basic to intermediate).
• Additional certification in specialty areas (e.g. IgCP, CSP, BCSCP) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provides compounding, dispensing, and clinical monitoring services.
• Complies with local, state and federal accrediting rules and regulations.
• Supervises pharmacy technicians and support personnel.
• Coordinates services with nursing, intake/admissions, reimbursement, sales and marketing.
• Supports Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement initiatives.
• May orient/train new staff and act as a resident preceptor as requested.
• Serves as a clinical resource to Sales and Marketing and reviews marketing materials.
• Ensures dispensing complies with insurance authorization procedures and supports audits.

The Position:

The Pharmacist provides clinical pharmacy services relative to chronic and traditional acute infusion therapies. Conducts sterile compounding, dispensing and clinical monitoring activities in accordance with all laws, regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to pharmacy practice standards as defined by the state board of pharmacy, federal agencies, accrediting bodies, and Soleo Health. Embraces a team approach to patient care and overall customer service, working collaboratively with all appropriate department areas.

Responsibilities include:

• Provides compounding, dispensing, and clinical monitoring services prescribed by physicians or other authorized medical personnel.
• Comply with all local, state and federal accrediting rules and regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy.
• Provides direct supervision to pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support personnel ensuring compliance in all areas as outlined above.
• Coordinates pharmacy services utilizing a team model with nursing, intake/admissions, reimbursement, sales and marketing in order to ensure an efficient customer focused approach and optimal clinical patient outcomes.
• Embraces Soleo's Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement initiatives, and plays an active role in supporting these programs.
• Plays an active role in the orientation and training of new pharmacy staff, and may act as a resident preceptor for pharmacy interns as requested.
• Is a clinical resource to Sales and Marketing, and from time-to-time may assist with customer presentations and the clinical review of marketing materials and programs.
• Supports and complies with company's procurement and inventory control procedures.
• Is a resource to the corporate clinical services department, and may be take part in the product select committee as requested.
• Ensures pharmacy dispensing is compliant with insurance authorization procedures relative to each patient dispense, and provides support to the reimbursement team for insurance audits needs relative to pharmacy documentation.
• Takes part in the pharmacy on-call rotation in order to provide continuous pharmacy support services to our customers.
• Demonstrates understanding of USP 797 standards, USP 800 standards, and current State Board of Pharmacy (BOP) regulations
• Maintain accurate clinical records, including those required to ensure comply with state and federal reporting on all controlled substances dispensed.

Schedule:

• Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
• Must be willing to participate in an on-call rotation

Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D), or BS in Pharmacy with appropriate experience
• PGY1 Residency in Home/Alternate site infusion preferred but not required
• Current applicable home state licensure as a registered Pharmacist
• 1 to 3 years of experience working with a specialty home infusion company, or in a hospital setting with primary responsibilities working within the pharmacy IV room, preferred
• Basic to intermediate Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• Additional certification in specialty areas of practice (e.g. IgCP, CSP, BCSCP) preferred but not required
