Job summary

HCA HealthONE Aurora is seeking a Pharmacist to ensure safe, effective, and cost-conscious use of medications. Under supervision, you will supervise staff, perform compounding and distribution duties, and provide drug information and clinical services to care teams and patients.

The position requires current Colorado Pharmacist licensure, BCLS/ACLS certification, and a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy. Strong communication and computer skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Current licensure by the Colorado Board of Pharmacy as a registered Pharmacist.
  • BCLS and ACLS certifications required through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Education: BS or PharmD in Pharmacy.
  • Experience: None required.
  • Must have ability to type and communicate effectively, with solid computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform drug packaging, patient billing, and all aspects of drug compounding and distributions.
  • Provide drug information and clinical services to health professionals and patients.
  • Monitor all aspects of drug therapy in the facility.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Summary And Qualifications
  • Position Summary: This position supports the mission of HCA HealthONE Aurora of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Director and/or the Pharmacy Operations Supervisor, the Pharmacist is responsible for the safe, effective and cost-effective use of drugs through the application of specialized knowledge, skills, and professional judgment. The staff pharmacist shall perform drug packaging, patient billing, all aspects of drug compounding and distributions, shall provide drug information and clinical service to all health professionals and patients, and monitor all aspects of drug therapy in the facility. The staff Pharmacist supervises pharmacy technicians and interns. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Position Requirements:
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure by the Colorado Board of Pharmacy as a registered Pharmacist. BCLS and ACLS certifications required through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Must maintain current certifications.
  • Education: BS or Pharm D in Pharmacy required.
  • Experience: None required.
  • Special Qualifications: Must have the ability to type and have effective oral and written communication skills and computer skills. Demonstrated skills commensurate with formal training.
  • Degree of supervision required: Involves general guidance and direction by the Pharmacy Director. Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
