Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals LLC in Boston is seeking a Commercial Supply Chain Specialist for a 12 month contract with a hybrid work model requiring 3 on-site days. You will provide logistics support, coordinate with external partners, and help maintain inventory reports and material movement in our systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Typically 2-4 years of work experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Responsibilities

• Provides logistics support including coordination and prioritization of planned shipments and shipment tracking.
• Coordinates with external contract manufacturing partners for inventory reports.
• Prepares Vertex inventory summaries as required.
• Supports senior staff with transactions for material creation, movement and use in Vertex's material management software system.
• Confirms completion and tracking of supply chain documentation.
• Assists with issues affecting production and inventory planning.
• Maintains relationships with third-party suppliers.
• Handles accountability and destruction of rejected or unusable materials.
• Assists with tracking supply chain activities and contracts.
• Supports the Supply Chain Map program maintenance.
• Collaborates with Quality, Tech Ops, Regulatory and suppliers to resolve blockers to material flow.
