Job summary

Wedgewood Pharmacy in San Jose, CA, is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead daily QA activities in a sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing setting. You will oversee material approvals, quality investigations, and cross‑functional QA initiatives, ensuring compliance with cGMP and quality systems.

You’ll mentor QA Technicians, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with QC, Validation, and Production to uphold product safety and quality. This onsite role offers standard work hours.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience with state and federal regulations, cGMP guidelines/standards, and industry best practices.
• Experience in a commercial compounding outsourcing or pharmaceutical facility is preferred.
• Ability to lead and mentor QA team members and manage quality-improvement initiatives.
• Strong written and oral communication, organization, documentation, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day QA activities within a sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing facility to ensure safety, identity, strength, quality, and purity.
• Approve or reject starting materials, packaging and labeling materials, intermediates, bulk products, and finished products.
• Perform, review, and approve quality investigations with root-cause analysis and CAPA.
• Review and approve protocols and reports supporting commissioning, maintenance, and validation of facilities, processes, and equipment.
• Ensure training requirements are completed and maintained; create, revise, and approve controlled documents and changes.
• Compile and report monthly quality-system metrics; monitor trends and drive improvements.
• Participate in internal audits, risk assessments, and cross-functional quality improvements.
• Lead and mentor QA Technicians; partner with QC, Validation, and Production on QMS changes.
