Job summary

Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking an experienced Microbiology Technical Specialist for a contract role in the Tampa, FL area. This position focuses on technical leadership in microbiology testing, regulatory compliance, investigations, and continuous improvement within a pharmaceutical manufacturing setting.

The role is non-testing and non-people-management, ideal for a senior microbiology professional transitioning to technical leadership while maintaining hands-on responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Microbiology or related science field.
• Minimum 5 years in microbiology, preferably pharma/CDMO.
• Hands-on testing experience in bioburden and GMP labs.
• Ability to author/Review technical docs and reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for microbiology lab ops with emphasis on bioburden testing.
• Support GMP/compliance activities, inspections, and investigations.
• Lead deviations, CAPAs, change controls and document management.
• Develop and review protocols and qualification documentation.
• Collaborate on lab automation and equipment qualification projects.
• Troubleshoot lab testing processes and ensure timely resolution.
• Coordinate deliverables and track project progress to timelines.
