Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Maintenance Shift Supervisor for our Westport manufacturing operations. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring continuous and compliant maintenance across weekend rotating shifts (days, evenings, and nights).

The role emphasizes autonomy and proactive problem solving within a regulated environment. The successful candidate will manage handovers, coordinate resources, and uphold cGMP standards while driving safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Trade qualification in suitable science/engineering.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a highly regulated industry in a similar role.
• Detailed functional knowledge of a wide range of manufacturing equipment is required.
• Proven instrumentation/troubleshooting ability.
• Strong interpersonal skills are essential as you will interact with external vendors, auditors, inspectors and other external parties.

Responsibilities

• Ensure continuity across shifts, with handovers at shift start and end.
• Review and approve timecards for personnel.
• Ensure adherence to training schedules and toolbox talks.
• Coordinate WO reviews and ensure cGMP compliance.
• Cross-train team members and maintain cGMP of pharmaceutical processing areas.
• Lead performance management and development of direct reports.
