Job summary

Federal Express Corporation in New York is seeking a flexible package handler to load and unload shipments in a fast-paced environment.

No formal education required; six months’ related experience preferred. Early morning or late afternoon shifts are available, with pay of $22.00–$23.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to understand and follow instruction regarding work duties and safety methods.
• Ability to discern numbers and information in order to sort packages correctly.
• Ability to use basic tools and equipment such as skate wheel rollers, dock carts, hand-held scanners, chutes and unloading devices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload packages as needed.
• Sort packages accurately using numerical information.
• Maintain safety and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
• Operate basic loading tools and equipment as required.
• Work within shifts starting as early as 3:00 a.m. or 3:00 p.m.

Minimum Education

• None required

Minimum Experience

• No experience required; six (6) months of experience as a package handler or switching/CDL operator experience preferred.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a Department of Transportation (DOT) file.
• Ability to understand and follow instruction regarding work duties and safety methods.
• Ability to discern numbers and information in order to sort packages correctly.
• Ability to use basic tools and equipment such as skate wheel rollers, dock carts, hand-held scanners, chutes and unloading devices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.

Additional Details

Please note this position will require that you load and unload packages when needed. One position is available for early morning starting as early at 3:00 a.m. and one position is available for late afternoon starting as early as 3:00 p.m.
