Job summary

Sehdph in Waycross, GA is seeking a registered nurse to provide nutrition assessments, education, and counseling to WIC participants, travel to clinics, and support staff with vaccine procedures.

You will ensure HIPAA compliance, perform specimen handling as needed, and participate in emergency vaccinations; RN license and CPR required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing and PHN course completed within one year of hire.
• Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutrition assessments, education, and counseling to WIC participants.
• Develop and document nutrition care plans for participants as required by state and district guidelines.
• Travel to assigned clinics to provide nutrition assessments, education, and counseling to WIC participants.
• Serve as a resource on WIC procedures and nutrition to district staff and community partners.
• Train clinic staff on WIC procedures as needed.
• Adhere to vaccine administration and specimen collection protocols, including patient identification, registration, preparation, and labeling.
• May provide professional nursing care under nurse protocols.
• Administer vaccinations during mass vaccination events or emergencies.
• Ensure safety, HIPAA compliance, and accurate data entry.

Job description

Under general supervision, provide nutrition assessments, education, and counseling to WIC participants. Develop and document nutrition care plans for participants as required by state and district nutrition guidelines. Will travel to assigned clinics to provide nutrition assessments, education, and counseling to WIC participants. Serves as a resource on WIC procedures and nutrition to district staff and community partners. Train clinic staff on WIC procedures as needed. Adhere to protocols set in place for vaccine administration and specimen collection, including but not limited to appropriate patient identification, registration, preparation and administration of vaccine, labeling, requisitioning, and preparation of specimens for transport to the lab by courier. This position may provide professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols as needed. Ensure that all safety precautions, HIPAA requirements and data entry are accurate and acknowledged. Administer vaccinations during designated events such as mass vaccination clinics or in the event of a declared emergency. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and completion of a PHN course within one (1) year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of a bachelor’s degree in nursing. One year of experience as a registered professional nurse. Public health experience. WIC experience or experience providing nutrition education. Bilingual.
