Sehdph is seeking a dedicated registered nurse to deliver community health services, assess client needs, and develop care plans in programs such as Women’s Health, Child Health, and Adult Health. The role includes vaccine administration at clinics or emergencies and education for diverse populations.

Responsibilities include coordinating with social services, maintaining HIPAA-compliant records, and supporting the WIC Breastfeeding Program with inventory and training as needed.

Qualifications

• Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license
• CPR certification must be current
• PHN course completed within one year of hire
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
• Public health experience a plus
• Bilingual abilities are an asset

Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols. Provides community health services in programs such as Women’s Health, Child Health, Adult Health, etc. to the general public. Assesses the client’s condition, develops plans of care, provides treatments, educates clients, and refers clients to agencies that can assist in meeting social and/or health needs. Records pertinent observations and responses to treatment. Adheres to protocols set in place for vaccine administration and specimen collection, including but not limited to appropriate patient identification, registration, preparation and administration of vaccine, labeling, requisitioning, and preparation of specimens for transport to the lab by courier. Ensures that all safety precautions, HIPAA requirements and data entry are accurate and acknowledged. Administer vaccinations during designated events such as mass vaccination clinics or in the event of a declared emergency. Supports the WIC Breastfeeding Program, with obtaining and maintaining Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) certification strongly encouraged but not required. Manages county breast pump and breastfeeding supply inventories, including eWIC documentation, daily and monthly inventory records, discrepancy reporting, and secure storage. Receives and verifies breast pump shipments, tracks and follows up with clients issued Symphony breast pumps, and ensures proper pump issuance and cleaning in accordance with State WIC breastfeeding policies. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and completion of a PHN course within one (1) year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of a bachelor’s degree in nursing. One year of experience as a registered professional nurse. Public health experience. Bilingual.
