Job summary

PGIM in Newark, NJ seeks an Investment Associate for the Asset Based Finance (ABF) team. You will support senior investment professionals across origination, underwriting, structuring, execution, and portfolio management of private credit investments.

Work with deal leaders to evaluate opportunities, perform credit analysis, structure transactions, coordinate execution, and present recommendations to committees and senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in private credit, leveraged finance, structured credit, investment banking, or related investing roles.
• Strong credit underwriting skills with hands-on experience analyzing corporate borrowers, structured transactions, and asset-backed portfolios and executing deals across the full transaction lifecycle.
• Demonstrated experience building and interpreting financial models, including cash flow analysis, scenario modeling, and downside stress cases.
• Ability to evaluate complex deal structures, collateral pools, and legal frameworks with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

What you will do

We are seeking a highly motivated Investment Associate to join our Asset Based Finance (ABF) investment team. The Associate will support senior investment professionals across the origination, underwriting, structuring, execution, and portfolio management of private credit investments. This individual will work closely with deal leaders to evaluate opportunities, conduct credit analysis, structure transactions, coordinate execution processes, and present investment recommendations to internal and external stakeholders. This position follows a hybrid work model, with working 3 days in the Newark, NJ office and 2 days remote.

What you can expect

What you will bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in private credit, leveraged finance, structured credit, investment banking, or related investing roles

• Demonstrated experience building and interpreting financial models, including cash flow analysis, scenario modeling, and downside stress cases
• Ability to evaluate complex deal structures, collateral pools, and legal frameworks with attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The annual base salary range for this role is from $120,000 to $135,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.

This role is also eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award (if any) depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
