What you will do

At PGIM, Front Office Investment Solutions team is transforming how investment professionals access insights, conduct research, analyze portfolios, and serve clients through modern technology and AI-powered workflows.

We are looking for a highly analytical and technically savvy Business Systems Analyst to help drive the evolution of Peregrine, our front-office investment platform, and Merlin, our next-generation AI ecosystem powering investment research, portfolio analysis, workflow automation, document generation, and intelligent decision support across the firm.

This is an opportunity to work directly with Credit Research, Portfolio Management, Quantitative Solutions, ESG, and Client teams on high-impact initiatives that are redefining investment processes at scale. You will join a fast-moving team building modern cloud-native and AI-enabled capabilities that are becoming foundational to the future of front-office investing.

If you are energized by innovation, business transformation, and solving complex investment workflow challenges with modern technology and AI, we want to hear from you.

This is not a traditional BA role. You will be part of a team building next-generation AI-powered investment capabilities that are transforming how investment professionals work. From intelligent research workflows and portfolio insights to AI-assisted document generation and automation, our platforms are redefining the future of front-office investing.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Work directly with investment teams solving real business problems at scale
  • Help shape innovative AI-powered capabilities used across global investment teams
  • Contribute to strategic platforms that are central to the future of the firm
  • Be part of a collaborative and entrepreneurial team that values innovation, ownership, and impact
  • Grow your expertise at the intersection of investment management, data, and AI

This position is performed in a hybrid manner with a mix of work performed from our office in Newark, NJ and remotely.

What you can expect
  • Partner closely with investment professionals, product owners, designers, and engineering teams to deliver modern front-office investment solutions
  • Help shape and enhance AI-powered workflows across research, portfolio management, analytics, and client solutions
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, user journeys, workflows, and functional specifications
  • Translate complex investment and operational processes into scalable technology solutions
  • Drive discovery sessions, process reviews, and solution workshops with stakeholders across the business
  • Support the evolution of Peregrine and Merlin capabilities, including AI-assisted research workflows, intelligent search, summarization, analytics, and workflow automation
  • Work with structured and unstructured investment data, including research, holdings, exposures, market data, and portfolio analytics
  • Collaborate with engineering teams in Agile delivery environments to prioritize work, refine requirements, and support sprint execution
  • Create process flows, data mappings, and gap analyses for current and future-state workflows
  • Help define user acceptance testing strategies and support successful product rollouts and adoption
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and improved investment insights
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement
What you will bring
  • 10+ years of business analysis experience at a buy-side Fixed Income firm, supporting front-office teams such as Credit Research, Portfolio Management, Risk, and Quantitative Strategies
  • Strong experience across major Fixed Income instruments, including Treasuries, Investment Grade, High Yield, EMD, Mortgages, Sovereign/Government and Corporate Bonds, OTC derivatives, and Repos
  • Working knowledge of data governance with a proven ability to maintain high data quality throughout the project lifecycle
  • Proficient in SQL, including writing queries and understanding stored procedures; experience with BI reporting tools and relational databases
  • Ability to evaluate existing processes and recommend practical improvements that drive better business outcomes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and solution development for system, process, or production issues
  • Ability to help end users adopt and maximize new systems and tools across teams
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure with strong organizational skills and attention to both detail and the big picture
  • Experience using application lifecycle management tools such as Jira and Confluence
What will set you apart?
  • Experience supporting front-office investment platforms or research systems
  • Exposure to AI, generative AI, workflow automation, or modern data platforms
  • Experience working with investment research, portfolio analytics, or financial data ecosystems
