Job summary

Maine Health and Environmental Testing Laboratory (HETL) seeks a PFAS Technical Manager to lead the PFAS testing section in Augusta, Maine. You will oversee laboratory operations, ensure timely, accurate results, and support state environmental health initiatives.

The role provides technical leadership, staff supervision, quality oversight, and hands-on lab support while maintaining regulatory and accreditation standards. Onsite work with a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Laboratory Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years in an analytical lab.
• At least 24 semester hours of Chemistry including 8 in Analytical Chemistry.
• Experience performing validations and technical reviews.
• Experience with LC-MS/MS and GC/MS instrumentation.
• Strong computer skills including LIMS and office software.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the PFAS testing section.
• Supervise, mentor, and train staff.
• Ensure testing workloads meet turnaround times.
• Communicate testing activities and results with customers.
• Coordinate resources, scheduling, and staffing.
