Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a dynamic PFASs Forensics Discipline Leader to oversee and expand our PFASs forensics capabilities on domestic and international projects.

The role requires deep PFAS chemistry expertise, a publication record, and strong ability to communicate complex science to diverse audiences, including clients and regulators. Travel and collaboration across PMs, technical teams, and marketing are key facets of the position.

Qualifications

  • PhD in PFASs forensics is required.
  • More than five years of PFASs and forensic tools experience.
  • Detailed understanding of PFASs chemistry, uses, fate and transport.
  • History of commercial PFAS forensic projects using non-targeted analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee PFASs forensic services and manage program design.
  • Expand PFASs detection capabilities across multiple analytical methods.
  • Support technical sales, client engagement, and proposal development.
  • Lead R&D initiatives related to PFAS characterization and methods.
  • Oversee use of AI tools for PFAS characterization.
  • Mentor junior staff and facilitate knowledge transfer.
  • Position CDM Smith for new and existing client opportunities.
