Job summary

Pet Food Experts is seeking a Store Manager to oversee store operations and customer support, driving profitability and customer satisfaction. You will supervise and develop store personnel, ensure policy adherence, and promote company initiatives.

Responsibilities include increasing sales, managing MRP and P&L reporting, merchandising, and shrinkage control, while delivering best-in-class service and maintaining store standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of management experience.
  • Proficient in MS Outlook/Word/Excel.

Description

A Store Manager manages store operations and customer support for quality service, customer satisfaction and profitability. Supervise, lead, and direct the activities of store personnel. Responsible for ensuring company guidelines and policies are understood and followed. Responsible for improving store volume, profitability, and exceeding forecasted budgets, established, and maintaining gross margins.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Increase daily sales and daily tickets over established budget
  • Understand all Sales and P & L reporting as specified
  • Executes merchandise floor moves to drive sales
  • Takes proactive role in establishing and carrying out shrinkage control disciplines and programs and accepts high level of responsibility for store’s shrinkage performance.
  • Ensures all paperwork is processed within a timely manner according to company guidelines.
  • Follows up on receiving discrepancies, damaged goods and damage claims.
  • Maintains “best in class” customer service
  • Provide feedback on customer requests, and ensure right product mix for store
  • Recruit, interview and hire store personnel
  • Promote company culture and develop a positive employee morale
  • Coach, train and develop employees. Provide training, set performance goals and provide feedback to all direct reports. Determine and distribute work assignments to employees. Ensures maintenance, cleaning and store appearance is up to company standards.
  • Responsible for payroll budget and weekly processing for all employee time.
  • Prepare and conduct performance appraisals for associates. Take appropriate disciplinary action on employees, including making recommendations for termination, in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Ensures store-level compliance with company standards of safety, security, facility maintenance, postings/notifications and other administrative duties.
  • Provide feed-back, concerns, ideas, and needs to both Operations Manager and General Manager.
  • Promote the success of rewards programs and company promotions
  • Facilitate building cleanliness and maintenance

Experience and Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3 years management experience required
  • Proficient in MS Outlook/Word/and Excel
Requirements
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting at least 50lbs, and perform all functions as set forth above
  • Able to work with live pets of all varieties.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed
  • Able to relocate if necessary to other locations permanently or temporarily
