Job summary

Nwestco LLC in Fort Smith, AR is seeking a Petroleum Equipment Service Technician to install, maintain, and repair fueling systems, including dispensers and storage tanks. Qualifications

  • Certified Petroleum Equipment Service Technician or equivalent.
  • Experience with fueling equipment and associated storage/tank systems.
  • Proficient in diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults on fueling systems.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair fuel dispensers, storage tanks, piping, and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components of fuel systems, including sensors and monitoring systems.
  • Calibrate and test fuel dispensing systems and POS interfaces for accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections, documenting results and deficiencies.
  • Respond to emergency service calls to minimize downtime at customer sites.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental and safety regulations (UST/AST).
  • Maintain service records, inspection logs, and test results; liaise with customers and vendors.

The pay range is $20-$23/hr depending on experience and includes benefits, PTO, 401k, Company Truck, Gas Card, Cell Phone, Laptop and more!

Your Mission

You won’t just fix equipment—you’ll keep critical systems running, support customers in the field, and grow your technical expertise alongside an experienced team.

  • Install, maintain, and repair fuel dispensers, underground and aboveground storage tanks, piping systems, and related petroleum equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and service electrical and mechanical components of fuel systems, including sensors, leak detection, and monitoring systems.
  • Calibrate and test fuel dispensing systems and POS interfaces to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections on fueling systems and report deficiencies.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and equipment failures to minimize downtime at customer sites.
  • Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations, including UST/AST requirements.
  • Maintain detailed service records, test results, inspection logs, and maintenance reports.
  • Interface professionally with customers, vendors, inspectors, and site personnel.
  • Adhere to and promote all company safety policies, including lockout/tagout, confined space, and hazardous material handling.
  • Stay current with industry standards, manufacturer training, and certifications.
What You Bring To The Table
  • Anyone with a background in IT, Electronics or POS systems is encouraged to apply.
  • Hands‑on experience with fueling systems, including dispensers (Gilbarco, Wayne), submersible pumps, piping, and tank systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and electronic equipment, including circuit diagnostics and component replacement.
  • Background in servicing or installing POS systems, tank monitors (e.g., Veeder‑Root), and interstitial monitoring systems.
  • Experience working with tools, test equipment, and diagnostic software used in fuel system servicing.
  • Prior work in field service environments, responding to on‑site issues with minimal supervision.
  • Certifications or training such as Gilbarco Passport, Gilbarco Dispenser, Gasboy, FuelMaster, Verifone, Wayne Dispenser, ICC Service Tech Certifications, UST/AST operator certifications, or HAZWOPER.
  • Proven ability to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and installation drawings.
  • History of safe work practices, including work in hazardous locations and spill response.
  • Strong customer service skills, punctuality, and ability to work independently or as part of a service crew.

Some positions require travel and overnight stays. Travel expenses will be covered by Nwestco, LLC.

  • Ability to pass pre‑employment physical with extensive lifting (up to 75 lb), twisting, pulling, kneeling, and squatting.
  • Ability to pass pre‑employment drug‑screening and background check. This position is classified as safety‑sensitive, and a comprehensive drug test, including screening for marijuana, is a condition of employment.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record over the past 5 years is required.
