Job summary

PetSmart is seeking a Pet Training Instructor to engage with pet parents and their pets, delivering training services per our curriculum and driving class sales. The role emphasizes creating positive experiences and upholding our mission and values.

As a trainer, you will educate customers on the benefits of pet training, maintain records, and act as a knowledge resource for store staff. The position requires in-store work and a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of retail experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Accredited in PetSmart Training Instructor Course.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Flexibility in schedule, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create positive pet parent experiences in person, over the phone, or online.
• Actively sell training classes and educate on the curriculum.
• Maintain training paperwork and records.
• Serve as subject matter expert on pet training for the location.
• Schedule classes and ensure a safe, clean training area.
• Assist other departments as required and support the Belonging culture.
