Summary of Position
Trains pets on the various Invisible Fence® Brand pet solutions according to the preferred training method and instructs customers on how to follow-up the training with reinforcement of procedures and practices associated with the training protocol.
Responsibilities
- Provide training for pets using the training method recommended by Invisible Fence® Brand.
- Support and train customers to follow-up on the certified training provided by the instructor.
- Effectively communicate the goals of each training session and the equipment used.
- Display a full understanding of the products and how they are used within the training sessions.
- Set‑up transmitter and receiver by programming the equipment for the training session and adjusting as needed.
- Explain the importance of maintenance and how to properly fit the receiver.
- Use the Dealer Tool to set and adjust system settings and track usage by the pet.
- Maintain and clean all company vehicles and equipment assigned to the Certified Pet Trainer.
- Arrive promptly at scheduled training sessions, greet customers and pets, and address concerns timely.
- Provide a full report of recommendations and observations, and recommend products and services beneficial to the pets.
- Return calls to all customers immediately and solicit and collect customer referrals and endorsement letters.
- Ensure the training session is clean and neat, cleaning up any messes during the training.
- Consistently deliver friendly, positive and professional service at all times, including travel times to jobs.
- Maintain Ambassador status for Invisible Fence® Brand, actively seeking referrals, leads and appointments with every customer contact.
- Collect paperwork and payments for contracted services and submit to the GM in a timely manner.
- Maintain proper inventory and stocking of training materials.
- Assess customers’ pets to determine suitability for Invisible Fence® Brand solutions and report potential issues to the GM.
- Build relationships with customers, including creating self‑generated leads and Google reviews.
- Exceed standard customer satisfaction levels.
- Troubleshoot and repair system issues during the first visit to prevent go‑backs.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license, clear driving record and driving skills.
- 1 year of pet training experience.
- Outstanding verbal, written and listening communication skills.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and time constraints and solve practical problems.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to read, write, speak and interpret English and effectively communicate sales or training requirements with customers.
- Technical abilities necessary to use cellular phones (all electronic devices) for training services and recording notes.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl as required.
- Results oriented with a strong sense of ownership and high level of professionalism.
- Well groomed and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions, including extreme cold or heat, and wet or humid environments.
- Willingness to travel in a company vehicle to customers’ homes.
- Safety awareness regarding potential injury from working with pets (bites, scratches, etc.).
- Annual certification for Perfect Start™ Plus pet training.
Accountabilities
Follow Invisible Fence® Brand and PSB company policies, procedures, training manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, diagrams, schedule forms, instructions and sales/service contracts; exceed customer satisfaction levels by resolving issues, taking personal ownership, championing timely follow‑up service, soliciting referrals, and ensuring free battery plans are awarded. Report customer notes to AM, GM or AGM and submit SGLs, upsells and Google reviews to the AM or GM. Report vehicle maintenance issues that require additional maintenance and maintain a professional appearance and predictable attendance.
Relationships
Consistently sets high standards with branch associates to develop and enhance customer relationships and reports directly to the Area Manager or General Manager. Works with IFB FSS to schedule appointments.
Hours
Must be available to service customers and take appointments between 8:00a.m.and 6:00p.m. Monday‑Saturday, with the last appointment available at 6:00p.m. on a rotating schedule. A 5‑day work week includes weekends if the rotation shift falls on a weekend. Must be available to work 2–3 Saturdays per month (approximately 50% of Saturdays per month).
