Job summary

Petco is seeking a skilled Pet Stylist to deliver expert grooming services for our customers' pets with care and consistency. You will work with pets and their parents to ensure safety, comfort, and client satisfaction while upholding Petco's grooming standards.

Ideal candidates have completed the Pet Stylist Apprentice program or equivalent training, can work weekends/evenings/holidays, and bring a strong eye for detail, breed knowledge, and a passion for animals.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Pet Stylist Apprentice program with Petco, or previous grooming training.
• High-school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to evaluate coat type, skin conditions and temperament.
• Results-driven with productivity and ownership in the grooming salon.
• Strong attention to detail and genuine passion for animals.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts and styling.
• Operate grooming instruments such as clippers, blades, shears, brushes and dryers.
• Prioritize pet safety and well-being and communicate with pet parents.
• Evaluate individual pet needs based on coat, skin conditions, and temperament.
• Train or supervise trainees when the Grooming Salon Leader is absent.
