Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Part time Pet Shop Associate in Elkhart, Indiana. You will display and stock products, operate the register, and assist customers with pet care needs, including small live animals and insects. The role emphasizes guest experience, safety, and maintaining clean, well-stocked departments.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED and Retail or related experience. This position supports a team-focused environment and requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in receiving, unloading, and stacking merchandise in the back room.
• Properly fill, rotate and merchandise shelves, cases and displays on sales floor.
• Notify the manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
• Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases.
• Handle small live animals and insects for customer purchase (e.g., rodents, crickets, meal worms, gerbils, snakes, small reptiles).
• Maintain clean, attractive and well-stocked departments.
• Follow PPE and Safety Guidelines; follow Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations.
