Job summary

Kennelwood Pet Resorts is seeking a Grooming Technician to ensure the skin and coat of dogs and cats are clean and healthy, while helping to keep grooming experiences stress-free for pets and their families.

You will work alongside a Grooming Stylist, with the potential to advance to the stylist program that includes paid training; cross-training in other departments may occur. Kennelwood has a long-standing history in pet care with multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift at least 40 lbs and up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable around pet hair and dander.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
• Previous dog bathing or grooming technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bathe the animal.
• Minimize stress during grooming.
• Brush dogs and cats to client standards.
• Clip nails, clean paws, ears, and express anal glands.
• Apply bows or bandanas as finishing touches.
• Assist with cleaning and salon maintenance tasks.
• Work with Grooming Stylist with potential to progress to stylist program (paid training).
• Cross-training in other departments may occur.
