Job summary

ChaCha's Dog Daycare & Grooming, a Sacramento institution, has an immediate opening for an experienced, independent groomer. You’ll walk into 36+ haircut appointments per week already on the books—no client base building or slow ramp-up. You’ll work with a bather/prep assistant to focus on the cut, while our loyal clients look forward to your work.

We start with a paid working interview. Bring your tools; we’ll bring the dogs.

Qualifications

• Two years experience as a dog grooming technician or similar role.
• Comfortable working with anxious animals.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift large dogs over 60 pounds.
• Willingness to learn new techniques and participate in continuing education.
• Able to communicate effectively with coworkers and dog owners.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Brush and detangle or remove matted fur.
• Bathe dogs and dry coat.
• Execute a variety of clipping techniques and style requests.
• Examine for parasites or other skin conditions.
• Trim nails.
• Ensure the safety of dogs at all times.
• Adhere to strict sanitary and cleaning procedures.
• Communicate effectively and compassionately with pet owners.
