Petco is seeking a Pet Stylist to provide expert grooming services for customers' pets in our grooming salon. You will perform bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other grooming tasks with a strong emphasis on safety and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Pet Stylist Apprentice program with Petco, or previous experience as a professional groomer.
• High-school diploma or GED preferred, though not required.
• latitude for independent judgement and problem solving in routine to moderately complex situations.
• Results-driven with commitment to productivity and ownership of the grooming role.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure grooming services meet high standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts and styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning.
• Operate and maintain grooming instruments such as clippers, blades, shears, brushes, and dryers.
• Prioritize safety and well-being of all pets and communicate with pet parents and store management as needed.
• Interact professionally with pet parents, provide grooming recommendations, and resolve questions or concerns.
• Maintain a clean and safe grooming area following Petco hygiene and sanitation policies.

Education

Pet Stylist Apprentice program completion or prior grooming experience

High school diploma or GED preferred

Independent judgment and problem solving

Detail-oriented with high grooming standards

Strong verbal and written communication
