Job summary

Camp 4 Paws is seeking an experienced Dog & Cat Groomer to join our growing pet care team. Deliver top-notch grooming services while building strong relationships with pet owners, using your skills in animal handling, coat styling, and compassionate care.

Compensation is negotiable based on experience, with a pay range of $50,000 to $100,000 per year. This full-time, in-person role offers a dynamic environment and opportunities for growth within a devoted team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience - minimum of 5 years - in pet grooming, including dog handling and animal restraint techniques.
• Knowledge of pet coat styling, pet nail trimming, and general animal care practices.
• Background in veterinary experience, veterinary technician or assistant roles is a plus.
• Strong communication skills to engage with pet owners professionally and empathetically.
• Ability to lift heavy objects such as large dogs or equipment safely and comfortably.
• Experience with animal handling across various species is advantageous but not mandatory.
• A dedicated team player with a passion for animal welfare and customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and pet coat styling tailored to each dog’s breed and individual needs.
• Handle dogs safely and confidently using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and security during grooming procedures.
• Perform pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, brushing, and other grooming tasks with precision and care.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences and offer advice on pet coat maintenance and overall care.
• Maintain a clean, organized grooming area by sanitizing tools and equipment regularly.
• Assist with pet handling during appointments, ensuring animals are calm and comfortable throughout the process.
• Support additional animal care activities such as light veterinary assistance or basic health assessments when needed.
