Job summary

New York Imaging (NYI) seeks a PET/CT Technologist (Float) to perform imaging across Brooklyn and Manhattan, administer radiopharmaceuticals, acquire high-quality PET/CT studies, and support physicians with data interpretation. You will maintain ALARA principles, monitor patient safety, calibrate equipment, and participate in quality control.

Requirements include NMTCB certification, NY license, and 2+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• NMTCB-based diploma in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
• Active New York State License.
• Certification as NMTCB and/or ARRT-N.
• Additional NMTCB(CT) and/or ARRT(CT) certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer radioactive compounds for imaging procedures.
• Perform patient imaging using PET/CT equipment.
• Process and enhance images using advanced computer systems.
• Provide images and data to radiologists for interpretation.
• Monitor patients during scans and report abnormalities.
• Perform complex PET exams in consultation with radiologists.
• Build patient confidence by explaining procedures and obtaining history.
• Monitor patient conditions and note relevant diagnostic comments.
• Maintain ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot radiologic equipment.
• Optimize imaging protocols for diagnostic-quality images with minimal dose.
• Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities.

Job Description:

PET/CT Technologist(Float)

Location: Brooklyn and Manhattan, NY (Float)

Organization: New York Imaging (NYI)

In This Role, You Will:

• Administer radioactive chemical compounds for imaging procedures.

• Perform patient imaging using sophisticated radiation-detecting equipment.

• Process and enhance images using advanced computer systems.

• Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to physicians for diagnostic interpretation.

• Monitor patients’ conditions and reactions during scans, reporting any abnormalities to physicians.

• Perform complex PET exams and consult radiologists for appropriate scan procedures.

• Build patient confidence by obtaining medical history, explaining procedures, and addressing questions.

• Monitor patients’ physical conditions during procedures and note any comments relevant to the diagnostic process.

• Maintain safety measures to protect patients and staff from radiation exposure.

• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot radiologic equipment to ensure it is functioning properly.

• Maintain ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and the environment.

• Optimize imaging protocols to achieve diagnostic-quality images while minimizing radiation dose.

• Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental policies

We Require:

• Diploma from a Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) program (Bachelor’s degree preferred).

• Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB and/or ARRT-N).

• Additional certifications: NMTCB(CT) and/or ARRT(CT).

• Active New York State License.

• At least 2 years of experience in the field.

• Salary: Starting at $66/hour, based on experience and certifications.
