AdventHealth in Tampa, FL seeks a part-time Nuclear Medicine Technologist with PET/CT training to perform radiopharmaceutical administrations and imaging under radiologist supervision. Responsibilities include patient interaction, processing requisitions, and maintaining precise records.

The role requires ARRT RT(N) or CNMT certification with 1+ year experience; a PET/CT training program completion is preferred. Work includes day shifts across Tampa Zephyrs and Wesley Chapel locations.

Qualifications

• Requires 1+ year of PET/CT or nuclear medicine experience.
• Completion of a PET/CT training program.
• Registered Technologist in Nuclear Medicine (RT(N))/ARRT or CNMT would be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate radiation detection and measurement equipment.
• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals under radiologist guidance.
• Review requisitions with radiologist before exams.
• Explain procedures to patients; ensure understanding and compliance.
• Maintain records of tests, results, and radionuclide usage.
• Attend in-services and participate in floating pool as needed.
• Provide patient transportation when required.

Job Description:

• Shift : Monday through Wednesday 7:30 to 4 at various locations Tampa Zephyrs and Wesley Chapel
• Operates radiation detection and measurement equipment to capture and record visual representations of radionuclide concentrations in specific body areas.
• Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients as directed by a radiologist.
• Reviews patient requisitions and charts with the radiologist before starting exams.
• Explains the nature of tests to patients to ensure compliance and understanding.
• Monitors contaminated articles and bed linens using a Geiger counter to prevent the spread of radioactivity.
• Keeps detailed records of tests conducted, test results, and the usage and disposition of radionuclides and body products containing them.
• Attends in-services and maintains continuing education requirements.
• Participates in the "Float" pool to assist other areas when not busy.
• Provides patient transportation when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Associate [Required]
• Bachelor's [Preferred]
• Field of Study: Completion of PET/CT training program.

Work Experience:

• 1+ years of position-related experience [Required]
• 2+ years of position-related experience [Preferred]
• Experience in PET and CT [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Registered Technologist in Nuclear Medicine Technology RT(N)(ARRT)) [Required]
• Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) [Required]
• AND Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Computed Tomography RT(CT)(ARRT) [Preferred]
