Job summary

Akumin Operating Corp. is seeking a regional PET/CT technologist to provide scanning coverage and mobile training across the region.

You will support Team Members in the field, deliver PET/CT procedures, and drive patient-satisfaction improvements through proactive imaging quality and safety practices. As an experienced nuclear medicine technologist, you will coordinate with ADDs and physicians, troubleshoot scanners and peripherals, and travel up to 90% across multiple locations, ensuring

Job description

Job Overview

Regional resource responsible for providing scanning coverage and supporting Team Members in the field with PET/CT training and troubleshooting. Experienced technologist working in a mobile imaging healthcare environment with regular patient satisfaction improvement surveys. Once internal milestones are met, the position will include performing clinical competencies and team member evaluations, and scanning coverage in various locations and states through the region.

Responsibilities
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images and ensure patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection techniques, and radiation safety regulations.
  • Partner with local ADDs to effectively communicate with physician groups and radiology/clinic directors about PET/CT software, customer portal, scanning protocols, and quality issues.
  • Troubleshoot the scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment (e.g., monitors, PACS, coils).
  • Assist the sales team with start-ups and new business as needed.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Travel up to 90% of the time across multiple locations.
Position Requirements
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • NMTCB or ARRT (N) state license, as required.
  • CPR certification.
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Experienced nuclear technologist with 3+ years in nuclear medicine procedures and studies.
  • Previous experience managing business relationships with physicians and customers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization and adapt to new environments quickly.
  • Ability to work at several locations.
  • Organizational and multi‑tasking skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with several OEMs and multiple vendors such as GE, Siemens, Philips, etc.
Physical Requirements
  • May be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit.
  • Will be exposed to a strong magnetic field.
  • May be exposed to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, and communicable diseases when interacting with patients.
  • May be exposed to environmental hazards such as noise and travel.
  • More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk, repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs, see, speak and hear to communicate with patients.
  • Less than 50% of the time: stoop, kneel or crawl, climb and balance, carry and lift (ability to move non‑ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).
