Qualifications

Job description

Our PET/CT technologists use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain the procedure, and put them at ease. With a caring attitude and keen attention to detail, they ensure patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction every step of the way. They demonstrate technical competence by effectively interpreting physician orders and selecting appropriate software options and imaging parameters to produce high-quality PET/CT images, enabling physicians to diagnose accurately and treat confidently. Their flexibility allows them to work in various environments—outpatient centers, mobile units, or hospital-based facilities—delivering top imaging care at any access point.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection techniques, and radiation safety and documentation when working with radioactive materials.
• Producing high-quality diagnostic images.
• Effective communication with patients and radiologists.
• Training new technologists and/or support staff.
• Troubleshooting scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment (monitors, PACS, coils, etc.).

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree or equivalent preferred.
• Certification in Nuclear Medicine by NMTCB or ARRT (N) required.
• State license, as required.
• CPR certification required.
• 1-2 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures and studies preferred.
• Ability to work across multiple locations.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications.
• Local travel may be required.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Physical Requirements:

• May be exposed to outside weather conditions when transporting patients on mobile units.
• Exposure to radioactive isotopes, ionizing radiation, blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.
• More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk; repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements; communicate with patients.
• Less than 50% of the time: stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, balance, carry, and lift.
