Job summary

OhioHealth seeks a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to operate imaging and radiopharmaceutical equipment, perform scintigraphy, and support physicians with high-quality data. You will manage dose preparation, quality control, and patient care with clear communication.

Required credentials include an Associate's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology, NMTCB CNMT or ARRT, and BLS certification. Day shift, 40 hours per week within the RHC Diagnostics Amb department.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology is required.
• RegisteredNM (NMTCB CNMT) or ARRT in Nuclear Medicine Technology is required.
• Valid BLS certification and familiarity with nuclear medicine procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operates imaging devices, computers, ECG units and radiopharmaceutical equipment.
• Performs scintigraphic scanning and image manipulation as prescribed.
• Maintains quality control and dose preparation procedures.
• Communicates with physicians and provides data for interpretation.
• Ensures patient care with sensitivity and education throughout procedures.

Archives patient studies on computer and quality control studies.5%Receives, stores, and prepares radioactive and non-radioactive materials in preparation of patient doses. Assures availability of proper doses for patients.5%Performs quality control and maintenance procedures for scanning; maintains quality control and wipe survey statistics. Assures all equipment is performing properly to obtain quality examinations.5%Consults with physicians; shows images and/or computer patient studies to radiologist and/or cardiologist. Provides physicians with quality data for interpretation.3%Administers diagnostic or therapeutic radiopharmaceutical/ pharmaceuticals limited to those within the scope of practice, through various routes to patient, under the direction of a physician.2%Demonstrates sensitivity to the physical and emotional needs of the patient through good communication. Provides appropriate patient education, patient assessment, patient monitoring and overall patient care.
