Job summary

PharmaLogic is seeking a PET Chemist in Pittsburgh to perform radiochemistry synthesis, purification, and formulation for invivo imaging studies. You will work hands-on with radiopharmaceuticals, calibrate instruments, and ensure accuracy in production and testing.

The role involves night shifts (11pm–7am or 12am–8am), collaboration with lab scientists, and compliance with cGMP and safety standards. A strong background in radiochemistry and analytical methods is essential.

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Nuclear Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or related field.
  • Familiarity with a GMP manufacturing environment and FDA cGMP regulations required.
  • Knowledge of molecular imaging techniques and pharmaceutical study design and execution desired.
  • Experience with laboratory procedures and radiochemistry techniques (separation techniques – SPE) and analytical method, equipment (ICP-MS, ICP-OES, GC, TLC, and radiometric measures) highly favored.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for production of PET radiotracer and synthesis of generic and novel radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Purification of small and large molecules.
  • Support analytical methods for HPLC, GC and TLC.
  • Quality Control testing of final product.
  • Operate and maintain automated radiochemistry synthesis units.
  • Operate and maintain onsite analytical equipment.
  • Operate and calibrate laboratory instruments to produce accurate results.
  • Assist with improvement of current cGMP and non-GMP processes.
  • Follow SOP guidelines for manufacturing and QC release testing of radiopharmaceutical product, raw material, finished and semi-finished product, environment, and facilities.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment with radiation safety compliance.
  • Maintain accurate production and test/validation results.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, radiology, nuclear medicine, nuclear physics, nuclear engineering, or related field

Role Summary:

As aPET Chemist, youwill play an essential role in the routine testing, implementation, and validation for radiopharmaceuticals and radiochemicals. The position will have hands-on experience with radiochemistry synthesis, purification, and formulation for invivo imaging and biodistribution studies; executing studies in parallel; and working alongside other laboratory scientists.

Job Requirements │ Skills │Education:

Requires abachelor’s degree in chemistry, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Nuclear Physics, NuclearEngineering,or related field.

Familiarity with a GMP manufacturing environment and working with FDA and FDA cGMP regulations required.

Knowledge of molecular imaging techniques and pharmaceutical study design and execution desired.

Experience with laboratory procedures and radiochemistry techniques (separation techniques – SPE) and analytical method, equipment (ICP-MS, ICP-OES, GC, TLC, and radiometric measures) highly favored.

Experience with HPLC, radiochemistry synthesis, US FDA cGMP, Radiation Safety Principles, Isotopes production and analytical equipment troubleshooting and maintenance a plus.

Superior teamwork, multi-tasking and time/project management skills.

Excellent communication, analytical, problem solving, presentation and computer/pc skills (including proficiency in Microsoft Suit and related software).

Ability to work varying shifts.
