Nestlé Purina Development Center in St. Joseph, MO is dedicated to pet nutrition research.

It supports dogs and cats in cutting-edge studies that aim to deliver first-to-market dietary solutions and advance animal well-being. As part of the team, you will follow the Animal Welfare Act and Nestlé R&D guidelines, accurately record data, collect samples, check weights and Body Condition Scoring, and provide daily care including feeding and grooming while communicating observations to veterinary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2+ years of professional animal handling or regular care of animals.
• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Zoology or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of and compliance with the Animal Welfare Act and the Nestlé Purina R&D Petcare Manual.
• Adherence to Nestlé Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
• Accurately and reliably record data as outlined by the requesting project scientists.
• Collect and process samples for standard and non-standard nutrition tests.
• Obtain animal body weights and Body Condition Scoring (BCS).
• Provide care including daily feedings of the pets and basic grooming.
• Report to the veterinary staff sick or unusual behavior observed in the pets.
