Douds Veterinary Hospital is hiring a Kennel Attendant. Kennel team members play an essential role in providing daily care for hospitalized and boarding patients while helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming hospital environment.
Position Details
- Role: Kennel Attendant / Animal Care Attendant
- Status: Part‑Time
- Salary: Negotiable and based on experience
- Schedule: Must be available to work weekends and holidays

Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care for boarding and hospitalized patients
- Feed pets and monitor appetites and behavior
- Clean and sanitize cages, runs, litter boxes, food and water bowls, and hospital areas
- Bathe and brush patients as needed
- Maintain laundry for the kennel and hospital
- Help maintain hospital cleanliness and organization throughout the day
- Assist doctors and technicians with patient restraint and medication administration as directed
- Collect urine and fecal samples when needed
- Monitor patients and report unusual behavior or medical concerns to the veterinary team
- Help maintain hospital grounds and assist with light facility upkeep
- Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and maintenance protocols
Qualifications
- Genuine compassion for animals and the people who love them
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to stay productive and prioritize tasks throughout the workday
- Comfort working in a busy environment with barking dogs and active hospital activity
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliability, flexibility, and willingness to learn
- Animal care experience is a plus, but not required
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to lift and carry animals, supplies, and food bags with assistance when needed
