Job summary

Destination Pet LLC in Alexandria, VA is seeking an Animal Care Attendant to care for dogs and other pets in our day-to-day operations. You will keep enclosures clean, feed and water pets, and monitor their health and happiness during shifts.

We value a passion for animals, physical stamina, and a team-first attitude. This on-site role requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a starting pay of $15–$17 per hour plus tips and benefits like telehealth and 401K.

Qualifications

• Must love animals and be comfortable around pets.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Comfortable standing and walking for long shifts.
• Willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Keep pet enclosures and play areas spotless, safe, and sanitized.
• Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
• Monitor health, happiness, and behavior of pets, reporting concerns.
• Supervise playtime and assist with brushing and bath time.
• Handle laundry and arrange belongings to keep areas tidy.
