Job summary

Bay Paws Pet Resort is seeking a Bather / Spa Specialist to join our resort team. This hands-on role focuses on premium bathing and basic spa services, working with pets to ensure comfort, safety, and happiness during every groom.

You will collaborate with Daycare, Boarding, Enrichment, and Front Desk teams to ensure timely baths and positive experiences for every pet guest. This is a rewarding role in a pet-first environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a dog bather or grooming assistant preferred.
• Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes safely.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide full baths and spa care including shampoo, blow-out, brush-out, nail trims, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing.
• Prioritize pet safety and comfort during bath time.
• Conduct health and skin checks and report findings to owners and leads.
• Maintain clean, sanitized bath house equipment and area.
• Collaborate with daycare, boarding, enrichment, and front desk teams to ensure timely baths.

Bay Paws Pet Resort is looking for a Bather / Spa Specialist to join our resort team. This is a hands‑on position for a patient, detail‑oriented individual who loves working with pets and executing top‑tier bath and basic spa services.

Key Responsibilities

As a Bather / Spa Specialist, you are the pampering expert for our pet guests:

• Provide Premium Bathing & Spa Care: Perform full baths, specialty shampoo treatments, blow‑outs, brush‑outs, nail trims, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing.
• Prioritize Pet Safety & Comfort: Handle dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments with a gentle, reassuring touch to make bath time a positive, low‑stress experience.
• Conduct Health & Skin Checks: Perform "snout-to-tail" evaluations during bathing, noting skin condition, coat health, or ear issues and reporting findings to owners and leads.
• Maintain Bath House Excellence: Keep tubs, grooming tables, dryers, tools, and laundry sanitized, clean, and organized to uphold our high resort standards.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Coordinate with Daycare, Boarding, Enrichment, and Front Desk teams to ensure departure baths are finished on time for happy reunions!

Who We Are Looking For

• You have previous experience as a dog bather, grooming assistant, or pet care attendant (preferred).
• You are comfortable and confident handling pets of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments safely and compassionately.
• You are familiar with basic spa tools (blow dryers, nail grinders, brushes) and coat care techniques.
• You have the physical stamina to lift (up to 50 lbs), bend, kneel, and handle active/wet dogs for the duration of a shift.
• You are a reliable team player with great attention to detail and a passion for pet wellness.
