Job summary

Rentokil North America, Inc. seeks a Pest Control Technician to inspect residential properties, identify pest issues, and apply safe treatments. You will educate customers on prevention and support sales, while maintaining equipment and following safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required or equivalent experience.
  • Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic math skills for product mixing and calculations.
  • Customer-facing experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license from state of residence.
  • Licenses/certificates as required by regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of client properties to identify signs of pest infestations.
  • Apply approved pest control products, baits, and traps safely and effectively.
  • Educate customers on pest prevention methods and solutions.
  • Build relationships with customers, schedule appointments, and assist with sales.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and in good working condition.
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Drive a company vehicle to client locations and complete daily routes.

You will be responsible for identifying and eliminating pests from residential properties by conducting thorough inspections, determining the type of pest infestation, applying appropriate treatments like pesticides and traps, and providing preventative measures to prevent future infestations, all while adhering to safety regulations and communicating with clients about pest control solutions.Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Conduct thorough inspections of client properties to identify signs of pest infestations, damage, and entry pointsApply approved pest control products, including chemicals, baits, and traps, to effectively eliminate pests while adhering to safety standardsEducate customers on pest prevention methods and the importance of maintaining a pest-free environment. Provide advice on how to reduce the risk of future infestations.Build relationships with customers, schedule and confirm their appointments, help with sales to current customers, and expand our product to new customersEnsure that all pest control equipment is properly maintained, stocked, and in good working conditionAdhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding pest control products and safety protocolsDrive and safely operate a company provided service vehicle (we provide routine maintenance)Essential Job Functions:Working in tight, confined spaces such as basements, attics, crawl spaces, narrow aisles, or passagewaysWorking around animals, insects and termitesYou’ll sometimes be working around mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights and scaffolding, fumes, dust, and chemicals, and we’ll train you how to handle all of these conditions safelyAble to work both inside and outside in your local climate in company-provided weather gearLots of moving around — regularly sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, up and down stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and polesYou’ll need to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), like an OSHA-compliant respiratorWhat do you need?Clean shaven face- for safety reasons (rebreathers have to be able to seal your face)High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experiencePossess a valid driver’s license from state of residence.Licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations (covered by us)Available to work Monday-Friday and weekends as neededOpen to learning and becoming knowledgeable in all areas of pest controlSolid reading, writing, and verbal communication skillsBasic math skills — You’ll need to be able to follow instructions for mixing on product labelsCustomer-facing experience preferredWhy Choose Us?A career with the Rentokil family of companies can be a professional trajectory filled with opportunity.
