Job summary

Rentokil is seeking a Pest Control Technician to provide industry-leading pest management for residential customers. You will inspect properties, identify infestations, apply treatments, and advise clients on prevention, safety, and product usage.

You will work in both indoor and outdoor environments, use PPE, and drive a company vehicle, with benefits starting on day one. Strong communication and physical fitness are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training.
  • Valid driver’s license from state of residence.
  • Licenses/certificates as required by regulations (covered by us).
  • Available to work Monday–Friday and weekends as needed.
  • Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic math skills – able to follow instructions for mixing on product labels.
  • Customer-facing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of client properties to identify signs of pest infestations, damage, and entry points.
  • Apply approved pest control products, including chemicals, baits, and traps, to effectively eliminate pests while adhering to safety standards.
  • Educate customers on pest prevention methods and the importance of maintaining a pest-free environment.
  • Provide advice on how to reduce the risk of future infestations.
  • Build relationships with customers, schedule and confirm their appointments, help with sales to current customers, and expand our product to new customers.
  • Ensure that all pest control equipment is properly maintained, stocked, and in good working condition.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding pest control products and safety protocols.
  • Drive and safely operate a company-provided service vehicle (routine maintenance included).
  • Work in tight, confined spaces such as basements, attics, crawl spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways.
  • Work around animals, insects, and termites; handle mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights, scaffolding, fumes, dust, and chemicals safely.
  • Operate in both indoor and outdoor local climates wearing company-provided weather gear.
  • Perform frequent physical tasks such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and using ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) like an OSHA-compliant respirator.

What do our Pest Control Technicians do?

The primary purpose of this role is to perform our industry‑leading pest management services for residential customers. You will be responsible for identifying and eliminating pests from residential properties by conducting thorough inspections, determining the type of pest infestation, applying appropriate treatments like pesticides and traps, and providing preventative measures to prevent future infestations, all while adhering to safety regulations and communicating with clients about pest control solutions.

What do you need?
  • Clean shaven face – for safety reasons (rebreathers must seal the face).
  • High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license from the state of residence.
  • Licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations (covered by us).
  • Available to work Monday‑Friday and weekends as needed.
  • Open to learning and becoming knowledgeable in all areas of pest control.
  • Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic math skills – able to follow instructions for mixing on product labels.
  • Customer‑facing experience preferred.
